Climate Change

This section is intended to help you start exploring the issues related to the effects of climatic change on tropical marine systems.

First, you need to know about historical, current and predicted changes. Have a look at the current trends of warming of the ocean surface waters (figure below) and on the terrestrial side.

You also need to understand the basics of animal physiology related to temperature changes. A good review is given in a great paper by Terry Hughes et al. 2003

There is a tremendously good paper about the capacity of the biome to adapt by change in species distributions and evolution given here.

Try to find your own point of interest and look on the internet and using the scientific databases (informationssökning/databases/science citation index) to establish an argument that you can present.
