About Systems Ecology - Ecotoxicology

We study the fate and effects of environmental contaminants and other anthropogenic disturbances in aquatic ecosystems in temperate and tropical areas.


Our main research topics include:
- Human impacts on mangrove, sea grass and coral reef ecosystems, goods and services
- Fate and distribution of contaminants in Baltic ecosystems
- Ecological and economic implications of pesticide use
- Environmental effects of aquaculture
- Fate and effects of radionuclides in aquatic ecosystems
- Importance of biodiversity on stress response and ecological processes, from sub-cellular to ecosystem levels
